Last night’s relegation playoff between 1860 Munich and rivals Jahn Regensburg came to a 15 minute halt. It’s been a build up of frustration from Munich fans, resulting in a fan riot during their 3-1 loss on aggregate.

Munich fans began to throw chairs and other objects onto the pitch in the final 10 minutes of the game. It’s been a remarkable fall from grace for the former Bundesliga champions, dropping to the third tier for the first time since 1993.

Over 60,000 fans came to witness Munich’s last game at the Allianz Arena. The third most expensive side in the division will be forced to leave Allianz and relocate back to Grünwalder Stadion.

Munich have been relegated from seniors to Under16s.
