Dani Alves has slammed his former club Barcelona for their poor treatment of players. The Brazilian played over 200 games for the Catalans, but was let go to Juventus last year.

For a player who won 23 titles including six La Liga’s and three Champions League trophies, this is an incredible statement from Alves.

Speaking to a Spanish newspaper ABC, the 33 year old slated Barcelona’s board for avoiding his contract negotiations until FIFA stamped a transfer ban on their heads.

“During my last three seasons I always heard that Alves was leaving but the management never said anything to me,” Alves said.

“They were very false and ungrateful. They did not respect me. They only offered me a renewal because of the FIFA transfer ban.”

“That’s when I played their game and signed a renewal, which included a clause that allowed me to leave for free a year later.”

“The people who run Barcelona have no idea how to treat their players.”

Huge claim from the Barcelona legend.
