You’d think that Arsene Wenger would learn in a year a trick or two about playing Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
But – as a complete shock to Arsenal fans worldwide – there’s been no change in a year. 😱
Literally. Bayern hitting the straps to deliver another embarrassing 5 – 1 whack at the Allianz in Munich.
We’ve seen some great goals this Champions League match day, largely courtesy of Barca-slayer Angel Di Maria. Although Arjen Robben also peaked his interest at giving his best for goal of the week with an absolute blinder in the 11th to open Bayern’s account.
Alexis Sanchez provided a quick little reprieve to the Gunners before half hour through a penalty conversion – but Thiago’s brace after half time and Lewandowski’s dead accurate head quickly put Arsenal on the back foot again.
Some un-wanted Stats for Arsenal Fans.
- Bayern Munich commanded a total 74% of ball possession
- Bayern had 3 times more shots on goal
- Bayern absolutely dominated the passing game – collecting a total of 784 passes to the Gunners 270 😬
- It’s Arsenals 6th straight first round defeat in Europe
- #ArseneOUT is well and truly back in force.
Bayern’s social media team are even joining in on the fun with some savagery…

Can’t miss a trick those Gunners. Next week the UCL returns to the Emirates for the second-leg and to officially mark the death of Arsenal’s European adventure once more 😵.
Hug you’re Arsenal mate today – make sure they’re okay.
