Landon Donovan has rejoined LA Galaxy after hanging up the boots more than two years ago.
The record holder for most goals and assists in the MLS is hoping to bring La Galaxy their sixth MLS Cup title.
A plague of injuries left Galaxy with no choice but to make a desperate move for striker. It brings the return of their club hero, after Gyasi Zardes was scratched for the remainder of the season with a broken foot.
Some are calling Donovan’s return a PR stunt, but the 34 year old believes he can make a difference this season.
“I care so deeply about the Galaxy organization,” said Donovan.
“I believe I could help in a small way to aid the team in its quest for a 6th MLS championship.”
