Bournemouth have signed Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe on a club record transfer of £15m.

The 20 year old played in 41 matches for the Reds last season. AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake says the club are excited to welcome Ibe to the club.

“We’re delighted to bring Jordon to the football club.

“He played plenty of football with Liverpool last season. We’re looking forward to seeing him to continue to grow now with us, he’s a huge prospect”, said Blake.

Fans can expect Ibe to be a regular starter for The Cherries, after the departure of winger Matt Ritchie to Newcastle United.

Ibe completed his medical on Wednesday and will fly to the United States to meet with his new team-mates on Bournemouth’s tour of Chicago and Minnesota. The Cherries will will play NASL outfit Minnesota United, on Wednesday 20th July.

Bournemouth have signed five players during the current summer transfer window, after successfully surviving their debut year in the English Premier League.

“We’ve now signed five players this summer, all of whom have an abundance of potential”. said Blake.

“It shows that we’re serious about nurturing talent at this football club. We have the long term in mind when we say we want to stay in the Premier League.”
