West Ham United have won the race for Sofiane Feghouli’s signature from Valencia CF.

The Algerian chose to play for the rising Premier League side, instead of a lucrative offer from Portuguese side S.L. Benfica, who will play in the Champions League next season.

The mastermind behind the transfer was none other than Hammers manager Slaven Bilic, who orchestrated the transfer. With no discredit to the Portuguese League, there is no doubt that Feghouli’s switch to the Premier League was the right career option for the 26 year old.

‘I am very happy to sign for the Hammers and for Slaven Bilic,’ Feghouli said. ‘The history of the club is important for me in my decision.

“Playing in the Premier League is very important for players in their careers and I am happy to play for the Hammers.”

West Ham are also reportedly in the hunt for Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette in a deal that could be worth up to £32million.

The thought of Feghouli and free-kick specialist Dimitri Payet playing side by side is any fans dream. Both are quick, hard working and clinical with their feet.

This could be the season West Ham push for top four.
