UEFA are set to come down hard on the Football Union of Russia and it’s fans after attacks on English fans in Marseille have left two fans in a critical condition and many injured.
The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will be announcing the punishment tomorrow on the 14th of June.
In an official statement by UEFA, the charges against the Football Union of Russia are as follows:
- Crowd disturbances (Art. 16 (2) Disciplinary Regulations)
- Racist behaviour (Art. 14 DR)
- Setting off of fireworks (Art. 16 (2) DR)
Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA EURO 2016 group stage match between England and Russia (1-1) in Marseille.
