The FFA has announced Caltex Australia as the major sponsor for the Socceroos for the next four years. 

“We are extremely thrilled that Caltex Australia has joined as naming rights partner of the Socceroos for the next four years,” FFA CEO David Gallop said.

The Socceroos have been desperate for a sponsor since the departure of Qantas late 2013. 

To have a naming rights sponsor is a massive step in the right direction financially for the FFA, where they can be now taken seriously as a big player. 

Last year Gallop gave his word that he would find a sponsor and he has pulled through in a big way. 

“We are continually out there banging on doors reminding people that this is an amazing sporting property and that it has a ‘for sale’ sign on it.”

It’s also an exciting time for Socceroos players who look forward to two World Cup Qualifiers at home next month in March. 

Melbourne City’s new signing Alex Wilkinson says it’s a really exciting time for the Socceroos and Matildas.
