There’s something special about the atmosphere of a Champions League evening. And despite that European evening being a very early Australian morning, you can almost feel the atmosphere of a humming Camp Nou or a packed San Siro just before kick-off.

But hold on FIFA fans, because coming later this year, you’ll be able to strive to your own Champions League glory in FIFA19.

Earlier this month the makers of PES, Konami announced they’d ended their agreement with UEFA to include the Champions League into their game, opening the door to speculation that EA Sports might finally make a move.

And just this weekend, a slip of the tongue from the Dutch ‘voice of FIFA’, Evert ten Napel, all but confirmed that the Champions League will be coming to FIFA19.

“In 2019 as well, the game will get even better, because they’ve added the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League,” he told Dutch television.

That’s right, you’ll be able to go on your own Champions League journey in search of the European Football’s biggest prize all by yourself. There’s been no official comment from EA Sports as of yet to the reports, but the game is expected out in October, as is tradition.
