Liverpool have sent shockwaves throughout Europe this morning, after downing Premier League leaders Manchester City in the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final, 3 – 0.
Yes, Liverpool beat City 3 – 0. The seemingly untouchable league leaders had a night to forget with not a single shot at goal landing on-target.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain delivered the killer second goal to make it two goals in 20. Before Mané tapped in a third in the 30th minute to make it a 3 – zip clean-sweep before half-time.
We can tell you this much – they’re partying late into the early hours of this morning in the Merseyside.
However – it’s likely the party will be soured in the morning with UEFA officials suggesting action will be taken against the club for the hostile welcome the City team bus received. Rocks and other objects were reportedly thrown at the bus which resulted in a broken window.
.@LFC could be in trouble for the treatment meted out by some fans to the @ManCity bus on arrival at Anfield. Not a good look at all 😏 Watch LIVE on beIN 1 and CONNECT https://t.co/nT57BfLkQM #UCL #LIVMCI pic.twitter.com/VXr7meItmE
