Harry Kane has further edged himself into the history books as one of the Premier League’s greatest strikers, bringing up his 100th English Premier League goal this morning. In just 141 games (yes 141 games) Kane’s pulled together an astounding 100 goals to become just the 27th player to reach the milestone.
And if he continues on his goal scoring trajectory, it’ll be a lot more than just 100 goals Kane will be celebrating. As the second fastest player to ever reach 100 goals, is it too early to say he’ll be after Alan Shearer’s 260 goal record?
That man, Alan Shearer, had some (interesting) words to share with Kane on the news of his success.
“You showed some great character and guts to step up and take that second penalty,” he said. “That’s what you are — and who you are — congratulations and have a good night.”
