David Beckham, the absolute specimen he is, decided that life as an ambassador / model / retiree / pundit / fashionista / absolute boss, is getting a bit old and that he needs a new challenge.
The answer? Launching his own MLS team in sunny Miami.
MLS Commissioner Don Garber today announced that David Beckham would be a ‘franchise’ owner of Major League Soccer’s newest team to be based out of Miami, kicking off in 2020.
But apart from that date, the rest of the details around Becks new investment are a little hazy. The name, colours, stadium, crest, coach, player signings and most importantly, team mascot, are still several months away from being seriously considered.
