The Spurs have added to their defensive roster, announcing the signing of Davinson Sanchez from Ajax for a reported £42 million.
At age 21, Spurs have come to a 6-year agreement to develop Sanchez into a central part of their backline for many years to come. The deal overtakes the clubs previous transfer-fee record of £30m for Moussa Sissoko paid in 2016.
Sanchez said that coming to England was a “massive opportunity” for him, and he was looking forward to getting into the club.
We’re assuming the thinking is that he’ll help fill the space left behind by Kyle Walker, after moving to Manchester City in the off-season.
