Brazilian side Chapecoense have amazingly defeated Colombian team Atlético Nacional 2-1 in the first leg of the Recopa Sudamericana Championship. It’s an amazing achievement for a side who have overcome a terrible plane crash tragedy last year which took the lives of 71 people.
Only three players survived that day – Alan Ruschel, Jakson Follmann and Neto. The trio were commemorated by the crowd on their arrival.
It was an emotional day for both Brazilians and Colombians, who took a moment to pay tribute to the lives lost in the Colombian mudslide last week.
