Tango League lights up Sydney

After hitting up several major cities across the globe; Berlin, London, Paris, New York…. Sydney was the next stop for the adidas Tango League. The Tango League – a street football tournament never seen before demanded both a team player and individual creativity.

Whilst the street squads put their focus on the Tango League trophy; adidas had some keen eyes on the lookout through Sydney FC’s Brandon O’Neil and George Blackwood for a player the be crowned the Tango League MVP and earn an exclusive boot deal with adidas.

With an eye on the prize, THE TURF FC muscled up 5 formidable street footballers to take to the pitch. On the pitch; period of instant madness placed our defence under heavy duress and whilst our thorough complete attacking formation began to fall away; skills and speed still remained.

Unfortunately there was to be no progression for THE TURF FC on this day.

The FINAL came down to a heated exchange between Sydney’s top-two footballing squads: The Street Skillers v UltraFootball. A seemingly instant goal rush spurred on by an excited crowd saw UltraFootball crowned Australian Champions on a 3 – 0 victory in extra-time.

“The atmosphere was absolutely phenomenal. I was really surprised, especially in the final, how great the atmosphere was,” Brandon O’Neil commented.
