Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has agreed personal terms with Manchester United for a transfer in the summer.
Reports coming out of France suggest that the 25 year old attacker will make the same salary as Paul Pogba (£15m). Independent reports that Griezmann has already asked to wear the vacant number seven shirt, given up by Memphis Depay.
The completed transfer would see United pay £85m to Atletico Madrid for the Frenchman.
Griezmann is currently Atleti’s top scorer this season with eight goals and four assists in 19 games.
Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry expressed his support for Griezmann’s move to the Premier League.
“I think he’s someone that should come to the Premier League,” Henry told Sky Sports.
“If he goes to Old Trafford then it’ll be great for them.”
He’s a player you need, for the league and everyone, for the fans, to be able to see that guy.”
