The Portuguese star’s brace sees him equal Robbie Keane’s goal record (68). Ronaldo only needs 17 more to become Europe’s greatest ever goalscorer. Football legend Ferenc Puskas currently holds the record with 84 goals.
Portugal were made to work for their 4-1 World Cup Qualifying victory, after Latvia equalised in the 67th minute.
The European Champions now move into second place in group B of qualifying.
