Nike is on the lookout for Australia’s next football superstar

Waiting for your ‘big break’ to make it as an elite footballer?

The Nike Academy is on the look out for its next intake of young footballers ready to take their game to the next level. Beginning this month, the Nike Academy is running trials in Darwin, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney in its search for Australia’s best unique and untapped talent.

Those who stand out in their respective trials will receive a call up to the Pacific Trials in Sydney, and for one lucky footballer, a trip to the Global Most Wanted Showcase. The Global Showcase is acclaimed for attracting a range of top international clubs, coaches and scouts looking for the next great football talent to sign.

Most famously, Socceroo and Celtic midfielder, Tom Rogic went through the ‘Most Wanted’ program in 2011.

“Most of the hard work is done during training – that’s where you prepare yourself best. Try not to get caught up in stressing or overthinking, just go out there and do your job. Every time you go out to the pitch to train, it’s an opportunity to improve and develop,” he said.
