Harry Kane confesses that he spent majority of the off-season thinking about last seasons title failure with Tottenham Hotspur and England at Euro 2016.

In an interview with The Mirror, Kane described the mental scars that stuck with him over the summer break.

“It is hard not to think about it, Kane told the Mirror. When you are away on holiday it is all you think about, wishing it went better and what you could have done better.”

“But football is going to be highs and lows throughout your career and it is how you deal with that which makes you the player you are. You have to put stuff like that behind you. That has got to go to the back of the mind and focus on this season.”

Spurs were held by Everton at Goodison Park on the opening match-day of the English Premier League. Kane was unable to find the back of the net in their 1-1 draw, but also admits he is still working his way back to 100% fitness.
