Miralem Pjanic happy with Juventus debut in Melbourne

Juventus’s latest signing Miralem Pjanic says he is happy with his debut performance in his clubs win over Tottenham Hotspur in Melbourne tonight.

The Bianconeri defeated Tottenham 2-1, with new star Pjanic assisting Medhi Benatia for Juve’s second goal.

Pjanic looked to drop deep into midfield, whilst also dictating play up forward before coming off at the hour mark.

“We did good things today. It was nice for the first time and I was very happy. It is just the beginning and I am here to prepare the best for the new season. I train hard and the best will come,” said Pjanic

Pjanic worked hard in the midfield to pressure the Tottenham defense into making costly mistakes. Despite Spurs looking in control for the first five minutes, a dreadful error from youngster Dominic Ball saw Dybala score the opener for Juventus.

Spurs could have been mistaken for Sunday league football in the first half, after Ball failed to clear the ball out of the box. Pjanic whipped a cross on to the head of Medhi Benatia who made no mistake from close range.

Pjanic says he is looking forward to getting back to Turin and meeting up with the rest of his team-mates.

“When we come back to Turin the other players will come. I think we are a good team and we will do great things this year.”

Pjanic admits he isn’t able to play a full 90 minutes just quiet yet but believes he will be fit enough come end of pre-season.

FACING ROMA

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has found himself on the receiving end of high criticism from Roma fans. Pjanic understand he will be boo’d after his move to the current five time consecutive Italian Champions Juventus.

“Of course I know I’ll probably be whistled, because it’s never easy to change teams.
