It’s the transfer rumour that has taken up most of the airtime this past European summer. Paul Pogba to Manchester United is said to be in the final stages of negotiations this weekend, with Jose Mourinho set to folk out a world-record £105 million transfer fee to Juventus.
Sun Sports reports that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is meeting with Juventus officials this weekend to sign-off on the fee.
The move could see Pogba travel to Manchester for his medial as early next week. Since the end of the Euros, Pogba has been holidaying in Miami, opting not to travel with his Juventus teammates to Australia for their pre-season camp.
ESPN is reporting that his personal terms with United have been met, with the midfielder set to be paid £202,000 a week.
Surely, some heads are being scratched at Old Trafford as to how they let him leave on a free-transfer in 2012. Negotiations have also been complicated as Pogba’s agent Raiola is set to pocket a staggering 25% of the transfer fee.
Not a bad day’s work huh?
