Xherdan Shaqiri just scored an unbelievable bicycle kick for Switzerland against Poland sending the game into extra time.
The wonder-strike has set the benchmark for the goal of Euro 2016.
With only ten minutes remaining, Switzerland’s backs were against the wall as they trailed 1-0 to Poland in the round of 16 match in Saint-Etienne.
The Swiss were dominating for the majority of the match, but couldn’t capitalize. Nothing seemed to be working for Shaqiri, as his powerful shots were matched by the stunning saves from Poland goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański.
In the 82nd minute Shaqiri did the unthinkable, scoring a ridiculous bicycle kick from the top of the box.
The Stoke City midfielder is a regular victim of harsh criticism from the media about being overweight, under-performing for club and country.
We quickly seem to forget he is only 24 and has already won three Swiss titles, two Bundesliga titles and a Champions League with Bayern Munich (the list goes on).
His wonder-goal has certainly hushed the haters, and surely be the leading favourite for goal of the tournament at Euro 2016.
