Across the globe, Copa America has reached the quarter-final stage, and the USA will be looking to serve as more than just a host when they look to upset a fiery Ecuador. History-making Peru face off against a giant Colombia, Messi’s Argentina play Venezuela and Mexico stand up against Chile.
In winter, a good vibe is a warm vibe, and the Belgrave Lantern Parade in Melbourne will deliver just that. Brisbane will be warming up at their Northey Street City Farm Winter Solstice Festival, so if you love bonfires, definitely check it out. Marrickville in Sydney will be showcasing The Addison Road Street Food Market, with cuisine from Africa, Europe, South America and Asia, well, everywhere really, and an awesome opportunity to get your cultural street food fix.
In Melbourne, Monk Bodhi Dharma is a chic, warm and friendly little eatery that serves outstanding vegetarian dishes along with a very good cup of coffee; I recommend the Indonesian Gado Gado, which comes with an awesome chilli chutney. Interested in an exotic bakery to start your Sunday? Sydney’s Brickfields bakery/cafe will deliver just that, and their coffee is astounding also. In Adelaide, A Mother’s Milk cafe in Unley not only serves up wonderful specialty coffee, but a very warming green chilli eggs that will warm up any winter Sunday.
