The Champions League final has finally arrived. Two years ago, Spanish giants Real Madrid beat Atlético in a final that played out a lot differently to the overall score. The Rojiblancos were solid for the majority of the game, but Sergio Ramos’ late header saw Simeone’s side crumble.
Two years on, both sides have maintained their strength, and with Barcelona’s exit, we are witnessing for just the second time two Spanish teams from the same city to face off in what might be a very different final. Fernando Torres has returned to his golden touch and has worked extremely well with Antoine Griezmann up front. With Real Madrid yet to win a trophy this season, the pressure must be mounting for Ronaldo and company to step up this weekend in what might prove to be the fixture of the year thus far.
