Manchester United have won the 2015/16 FA Cup with an extra-time 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
A scoreless opening half locked Palace and United head-to-head, until the 78th minute when Puncheon was the first to strike for Palace. Whilst Palace looked to move to park the bus and hold onto their lead for the final ten minutes, Juan Mata thought otherwise, following up with the equaliser just three minutes later.
A red card to Chris Smalling early in extra-time created the appearance that United was crumbling. But it was the heroics of Jessie Lingard just minutes later who put United in-front with a spectacular right foot volley.
The win comes as news filters through Manchester that Jose Mourinho will be the United manager next season. United were largely disappointed with their Premier League performance this season that also sees them miss out out on Champions League football.
