Hull City will play Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship play-off final in front of a sold out crowd at Wembley Stadium.
Hull and Sheffield are the last two teams standing after surviving the cut-throat stages of the Championship play-off’s. The final attracts interest from millions of people all over the world. Attendance figures haven’t dropped below 80,000 in three years.
Hull City are looking for a quick return to the Premier League, after they were relegated last season finishing in 18th place.
The Tigers were ruthless in the semi-final first leg away from home, smashing Derby County 3-0, and held on in the 2nd leg after a late blitz by Derby to win 3-2 on aggregate.
Sheffield Wednesday have an opportunity to return to the Premier League after a long 16 years. Their stubbornness and never say die attitude was enough to survive a late onslaught of chances from third placed side Brighton & Hove Albion in the 2nd leg.
The winner of the play-off final will receive a hefty pay-check of $A335.6 million. Not bad at all.
