In a fitting finish to the 2015-16 A-League season, United played out a thrilling 3 – 1 victory over the Western Sydney Wanderers to add the A-League Championship alongside their Premiers Plate in what can only be described as a remarkable season.
Just four months ago, United sat at the bottom of the table with many commentators calling it a season for the Reds.
But under the guidance of Spanish coach, Guil Amor, Adelaide slowly worked their way off the bottom to finish at the top of the league by the end of the regular season. A victory against Melbourne City secured Adelaide’s first home Grand Final.
Adelaide wasn’t to disappoint, a huge crowd of 50,000 filling Adelaide Oval for the most attended football game ever in South Australia.
