This weekend, as European league games take the Easter
weekend off, we have the excitement of World Cup qualifiers.

Argentina play Chile
while close team-mates Neymar and Suarez face off against each other in the fixture
between Brazil and Uruguay.

We
also have some exciting fixtures in the A-League, as Western Sydney Wanderers look to repeat their
last win against Melbourne Victory in their bid to retain their lead at the
top of the table.

Chasing close in behind is Melbourne City, up against Wellington Pheonix and looking to improve from their previous matchup where they lost 2-1. Brisbane Roar, equal with City on 41 points, look to repeat their last win against
Sydney FC.

                                                  GOOD VIBES

If you’re after some live music this weekend in a lovely
garden setting, The Sheaf in Double Bay, Sydney has an entire weekend’s worth,
beginning from Thursday night.

Live jazz fans in Melbourne should check out Ruby’s music
room this weekend, they also do live swing, perfect if you’re on a date.

                                      WHAT’S ON AROUND TOWN?

For an
Easter special, the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne have organised a fun family
event where you can build your own bush bark shelter, free to the public.

 If you can’t
get out that far but you’re in that ‘Saturday afternoon picnic at the gardens’
mood, I recommend picking up a lovely bottle of 2015 Santa & D’Sas Rosato from
Wine Republic on Brunswick Street before heading over to the Royal Botanic Gardens on Birdwood
Avenue, which is a bit closer to the CBD.

I also recommend checking out the
free exhibition ‘HUMOUR US’ at the Melbourne Arts Centre, which is celebrating the
30th anniversary of the

Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Speaking of free exhibitions, if you’re in Canberra you
should check out ‘Encounters’ at the National Museum of Australia.

The
exhibition showcases compelling objects from Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander communities that date back to the late 18th century, while also showcasing the
powerful stories that connect to these objects of historical and cultural
profundity. In Brisbane, Pinjarra Hills artist Nev Logan is exhibiting a lovely set
of works in his ‘Travels in Watercolour’, a free entry solo exhibition at the Richard
Randall Art Studio.

                                                                                                                                                          SUNDAY SESSIONS

For Sunday breakfast, check out Bar 9 if you’re in Adelaide,
you’ll probably be tempted to have a few.

Elixir Coffee Specialists in Perth
aren’t so shabby behind an espresso machine either; a small batch coffee roaster that
emphasises on the one thing you might actually want to wake for on a Sunday
morning.

For a quirky, industrial chic start to your Sunday, check out Uncommon on
Chapel St in Melbourne, they do an awesome vegan sticky date pudding, and right next
door, Mr Truong’s, make an awesome Vietnamese roast pork roll. Canberra’s Cosmorex
in Fyshwick is a definite also, they just won Champion Australian Roaster at this
year’s Australian International Coffee Awards.

That’s the wrap for the weekend folks!

THE TURF hopes you all have a great weekend and as always, enjoy the football!
