Atlético Madrid are through to the UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals after a tense penalty shoot-out against

PSV Eindhoven.

The teams couldn’t be separated after two legs and 210 minutes of football. 

Although it seemed neither side could miss, as fans in the crowd watched on nervously. 

Juanfran was the hero tonight, scoring the final goal to win the shootout 8-7 after PSV midfielder Luciano Narsingh tragically hit the crossbar. 

You have to feel for PSV, another team that have had to experience the cruel reality of exiting the Champions League on penalties. 

Atleti manager Diego Simeone was full of emotion after his side painstakingly pulled through in front of a packed out Vicente Calderón Stadium.

Madrid fans displayed a 40,000 card mosaic covered the stadium with colour as both teams walked onto the pitch.
