French police used pepper spray on the Chelsea FC away fans, in an attempt to ‘calm them down’ after Jon Obi Mikel scored the equalizer.
Chelsea fan Marius was at the game and captured the footage on his phone, which now has over 100,000 hits on Youtube.
THE TURF spoke to Marius today about how it all went down last night in Paris.
“A fan was celebrating on his seat which the CRS didn’t like so the one officer overreacted with attacking the fan with his spray”
Despite past altercations involving Chelsea away fans and police, their was no reason for the well behaved fans to be harmed.
Marius described the conversation another fan had with police after being attacked by pepper spray.
“I felt like kind of an animal, why you have to treat fans like this? We didn’t do any kind of trouble just celebrating that’s it?”, said the Chelsea fan.
The Champions League fixture was Marius’s first away match, and is likely to be his last in Paris.
‘This was my first champions league away match, and that with a bad feeling now. Definitely won’t come back to Paris”
