Tevez commits to childhood club- rejects Chinese £19.5m-a-year deal

Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez has rejected an enticing offer to move to Shanghai SIPG for an unthinkable amount of

£19.5m-a-year.

Boca Juniors will always have a special place in his heart.

Since returning to his boyhood club, the 32 year old has displayed his enjoyment and love for football once again.

19 year old Tevez faces Barcelona for the Joan Gamper Trophy- 2003

Following his controversial departure from Manchester United to rivals Manchester City, Tevez was an unsettled character, moving from club to club.

It’s clear that money or fame isn’t driving his career any more. His love for the game is clearly beginning to shine through once again.

This season we have seen some of the most promising players turn their careers upside down for a hefty pay check in the far east.

Brazilian Alex Teixeira wanted out of his former Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, due to his willingness to grow as a player for club, and eventually country.

His goal was to make the Brazilian national team in time for the 2018 World Cup. The shock move to China makes it unlikely that his dream will ever come true…

Tevez’s decision to reject such a lucrative offer must have been tough, or maybe the once ever-changing ‘Carlitos’ has matured.

One thing’s for sure, he is back in his home-town and isn’t going anywhere.
