Swansea continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League,
after defeating Manchester United 2-1 last night.
The Swans were all over the Red Devils from the word go, unlucky not
to score after Bafetimbi Gomis’s close range shot hit the bar.
Encouraging signs followed as Swansea almost pulled off one
of the team goals of the season through Shelvey’s well worked free kick.
Despite their attacking supremacy, United took the lead
early in the second half through Juan Mata.
Swansea didn’t drop their heads, scoring an equalizer through
new signing Andre Ayew in the 61st minute. Five minutes later, Ayew set up in form striker Gomis for the winning goal.
Gomis has scored four goals so far in this season’s Premier
League campaign and ninth in ten league games.
It’s the first time in the Swans history that they have
remained undefeated in their first four games in England’s top tier of
DZEKO STAR SIGNING FOR ROMA
Roma has stamped their authority in the Serie A, after
defeating defending champions Juventus 2-1 at Stadio Olimpico.
Miralem Pjanic sent a picture perfect free kick into the top
corner, putting the Wolves in front at the hour mark.
Patrice Evra was then sent off with a second bookable
offence. Roma capitalized with the extra player after Edin Dzeko headed them
into a two goal lead.
Paulo Dybala scored a goal for Juventus, which nearly led to
a late equalizer at the death.
Leonardo Bonucci was almost the hero but was denied by a match
winning save from Wojciech Szczesny.
