Sweet victory for Sky Blues | MUNDIAL MORNINGS

MONDAY 17 AUGUST 2015

Manchester City left current Champions Chelsea FC for dead
last night, in a 3-0 thumping at Etihad Stadium.

It’s the first time since 1998 that Chelsea has failed to
win in the first two games of the season.

Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho and Vincent Kompany all found the
back of the net, proving to be too much for Chelsea’s defense.

Shell-shocked manager Jose Mourinho surprised many fans,
bringing off Captain John Terry at half time.

The controversy continued, after Fernandinho’s stray elbow
on Diego Costa sent the Spaniard into hysterics.

The striker was held back in the tunnel, after trying to
reach out to the Brazilian, in a fiery war of words.

The stats don’t lie, which shows City finishing the game
with five corners to Chelsea’s one. Star man Aguero looked back to his best,
hitting seven shots on goal with four on target.

Manchester City’s title campaign is off to a perfect start,
earning six points from six in their first two games. Chelsea on the other hand
has been in the news for all the wrong reasons.

FOOTBALL GIVEN GREEN LIGHT IN INDONESIA

Indonesian fans will be delighted to see a football kicked for
the first time in months, after a FIFA suspension and interventions by
President Joko Widodo.

The Independence Cup kicked off last week, which was the
first domestic football game played since May.

The Indonesian government was to blame, after meddling with
local football association affairs. The in house corruption resulted in FIFA
booting the Indonesians from the 2018 World Cup, and 2019 Asian Cup Qualifying.

President Widodo has since recognized the popularity of
football in the country, and has attempted to clean up the mess he created.

Top flight Indonesian clubs are hopeful of restarting the
Indonesian Super League in October.

TOMI JURIC SIGNS WITH DUTCH CLUB

Asian Cup match winner Tomi Juric has signed with Dutch club
Roda JC.

The young Socceroo will join the side immediately, after
passing his medical this week. The former Wanderers striker will join fellow
Aussie Rostyn Griffiths. The Dutch club has taken a liking to the Australians,
as they also look to sign Danny De Silva on loan from AS Roma.

“After weeks of negotiations, we finally manage to contract
Tomi Juric for Roda JC – obviously we are delighted,” Roda’s general manager
told the club website.

CASILLAS CLEAN SHEET DÉBUT

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas had the perfect
start with his new club FC Porto. The Spaniard earned himself a clean sheet in
his début, defeating Gulmaraes 3-0 .

Casillas was laid off at Real Madrid after 16 seasons,
winning three Champions League trophies and five Spanish League titles.
