Manchester United reveal new ADIDAS Kit
The Red Devil’s have finally revealed a long anticipated partnership with Adidas earlier this morning, bringing the three stripes back onto the Manchester United shirt. Drawing upon inspiration of United’s rich history with the Adidas, the kit whilst focusing the iconic red, also features details from their 1980′s kits.
Mixing old styles with a modern twist, Adidas’ design team entered the project with the intention to ‘break expectations’ to reflect the Red’s return to the Champions League and start the 2015/16 Premier League season. Developed using Adidas’ new lightweight fabric the shirt feels weightless on the shoulders whilst also having a striking design effect.
“This special club has always broken expectations. Sir Alex Ferguson’s historic success, Beckham from the halfway line, the unlikely victory against Bayern Munich in 99, all of these moments demonstrate a club with not only a proud history but also a reputation for success and the unexpected. adidas is immensely proud to be part of that history and to be returning once again as partners of Manchester United Football club for another 10 years,” adidas sporting director, Steve Marks commented to TURF.
When it was announced that Adidas would be taking over the Nike contract, many United fans, myself included, were weary of what Adidas’ takeover could entail. However, testing out the kit, we really cannot find a fault. It’s as good technically as it is visually and truly represents all that is Manchester United.
And better yet – Shirts begin at $100 at Kitbag.
