Manchester City has been left embarrassed after a shock 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace this morning. Hopes of defending their Premier league title look diminished, leaving the Blues in a serious struggle to fight for automatic Champions League qualification.

An inspiring act from Crystal Palace saw them hold off a dominant City. Despite the possession and shot count all showing to be in City’s favour, the Eagles refused to be pushover boys and found the back of the net through Glen Murray’s tap in. City manager Pellegrini was left furious afterappeals for offside were ignored by the referee. It was going from bad to worse after Puncheon sent a picture perfect free kick past goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Despite City’s dominance, they could only manage one goalfrom Yaya Toure and were left shocked after another penalty appeal for handballwent unnoticed from referee Mike Oliver. A resilient effort from Palacenonetheless has secured them safety of relegation.

We are now at the final run home and it looks to be a two
legged race for the title. After an amazing performance against Liverpool on
the weekend, Arsenal is an outside chance to snatch the title from the league
leaders Chelsea. Chelsea is still to face United, Arsenal and Liverpool adding
fuel to the fire, in what will be another exciting end to the Barclays Premier
League season.

The Turkish champions are refusing to play again until a
full investigation is conducted to find out what happened on a night where
everything could have been so much worse.

“We do not intend to play football until the
perpetrators are found,” deputy chairman Deniz Tolga Aytore told a news
conference, calling the incident a “terrorist” attack against Turkey.

The suspension becomes the second league to be postponed this
year after the Greek Super League was also put to a hold earlier this year. Violent
scenes from fans in the Olympiakos Panathinaikos derby spilled onto the pitch
putting players at risk.
