It’s been a weekend for strikers with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring five goals against Granada, Rooney scoring a screaming half volley, and Charlie Adam scoring a 60 yard mammoth which almost equals David Beckham’s famous half way goal against Wimbledon. Our mouths have been drooling all weekend from the individual brilliance in front of goal.
Portuguese superstar Ronaldo responded to negative criticism regarding his form by scoring the fastest hat-trick (eight minutes) of his career. It is also the first time he has ever scored five goals in a single match.
Although Ronaldo may have taken a momentary dip in form, his latest achievement sees him marking yet another record; scoring a goal in eight successive returning games from the international break.
Cristiano’s goal tally has now risen to 36, four ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. Ronaldo is notorious for breaking records, registering Real Madrid’s largest La Liga victory since 1967 and leaving Granada humiliated with their worst La Liga defeat in their clubs history.
