Nike Most Wanted 2014 – Sydney

Every year, Nike hosts trials all around the world for young footballers with a dream of becoming a professional football player. Nike’s Most Wanted (formerly The Chance) gives amateur, unsigned footballers from around the world an opportunity to earn a place in The Nike Academy at St. George’s Park, the home of the England National Team, and showcase their skills in front of elite coaches and mentors from the top of the sport.

Earlier in October, Nike held the Sydney leg of the Most Wanted trials and welcomed 60 young players from across Australia to show their stuff for the chance to win a spot in the Global Showcase held at St George’s Park and hopefully, a spot at the Nike Academy.

Under the watchful eye of Head Scout and former Socceroo, John Aloisi, hopeful footballers were put through a day of intense drills and game simulations.

But there could only be one winner and 16 year old Morten Bay United (Brisbane) striker, Adam Edgar took out the prize and now heads to the Global Showcase in November.

“Today, I just worked hard, making sure put the ball in the back of the net right from the start and just gave it my all. This opportunity Nike Most Wanted has given me means everything to me, it’s been a lifelong dream and I can’t wait to start at St Georges Park,“ Adam told TURF.

The next Nike Most Wanted Trials will take place in Australia early next year.
